HCLTech reported July-September results on October 12, with new bookings of about $3.26 billion and a narrower full-year revenue growth forecast.
HCL Technologies (HCLTech) reported a consolidated net profit of ₹5,132 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, up 21.2% from ₹4,235 crore a year earlier, in results announced on Monday, October 12. Unless stated, figures compare July-September 2026 with the same quarter of 2025.
Profit and revenue
The Hindu reports that revenue from operations was ₹35,620 crore, up 11.5% from ₹31,942 crore. The Free Press Journal reports that net income rose 11% from ₹4,624 crore in the June quarter and revenue rose 3.0% from ₹34,579 crore. It gives earnings before interest and taxes as ₹6,465 crore, an 18.2% margin, and says the company declared a dividend of ₹12 per share.
Mint reports that revenue was ₹35,620 crore, or $3.72 billion, and narrowly below the average analyst estimate of ₹35,686 crore compiled by LSEG, while net profit was above the estimate of ₹4,859 crore.
Margins and bookings
The Hindu quotes HCLTech chief executive and managing director C. Vijayakumar as saying that the EBIT margin expanded 131 basis points from the previous quarter to 18.2%. The Free Press Journal also reports 131 basis points on the quarter and 71 basis points on the year. Mint, by contrast, says the operating margin was 18.2%, up 80 basis points.
New deal bookings were $3.26 billion, according to The Free Press Journal, which gives the figure as $3,258 million. The Hindu reports that bookings were up 27% year-on-year, and that first-half bookings were a record. Mint reports $2.4 billion in the preceding quarter and $2.57 billion in the same quarter last year, and says the latest figure includes a $1.14 billion Mercedes-Benz contract.
Advanced AI revenue and guidance
HCLTech reported advanced AI revenue of $219 million in the quarter, up 78% year-on-year in constant currency, according to The Hindu. Mint describes the same $219 million as annualized AI revenue, up from $171 million in the previous quarter. The two outlets frame the comparison differently.
Mint reports that the company narrowed its annual revenue growth forecast to a range of 2.5% to 4%, from 1% to 4% in the previous quarter, and says most brokerages had expected the earlier forecast to be retained. Mint places the results in the context of an IT services industry it describes as under pressure, with clients holding back technology spending and tying fees to outcomes rather than hours worked. It notes that Tata Consultancy Services reported revenue in line with estimates the previous week and that its total deal wins dropped.
What the company said
Roshni Nadar Malhotra, HCLTech's chairperson, said, as quoted by The Hindu, that the growth in advanced AI revenue validates the company's strategy. Shiv Walia, the chief financial officer, said a focus on capital efficiency produced a trailing twelve-month return on invested capital of 41.2%, the Free Press Journal reports.
